TREASURE MYANMAR (BURMA) MISSIONS REPORT (and photos)

Below are some pictures from our outreach to the nation of Myanmar.   (Known officially by the U.S. as Burma, Myanmar is an Asian nation, bordering India, China, Thailand and Laos.)

As we reflect on the wonderful experiences and review our precious photographs, we are overwhelmed with joy at all that God did through this outreach.   It was indeed a God-inspired mission!  Thank you for your sacrifice of finances and prayers.  All along, we felt the power of His presence and the support of your prayers!   Holy Spirit showed up and touched so many lives, it was incredible.    We encountered no difficulty in our travels, other than having our bags arrive at the Yangon airport a day late.

Our team of eight ministered at a 2-day Seminar filled with many Christian leaders from around Yangon and Myanmar, organized by our host, Pastor Kap Suan Pau.    Our message to that nation, and to the Christian leaders to whom we ministered, was to prepare for the Great Harvest that is coming soon! We all played a part, with Treasure leading worship, Pastor Brian Alton preaching, and Pastor Phaedra Alton and Rev. David and Chiyuki Wickey all sharing effectively.     The Burmese people in attendance were truly thankful and blessed - particularly during the altar prayer times.

It was gratifying to be able to leave several hundred copies of Treasure's CDs and cassettes in their hands.    The messages, testimonies, nuggets, and music all shared a common theme of encouragement to believe God for great things coming soon in their lives, their ministries, and their nation.  We pray that the seeds of hope planted into these leaders will bear much fruit as they walk in faith for great things even as they face many hardships.    It was obvious from the size of this gathering that Dr. Kap Suan is a gifted facilitator and respected leader in the Christian community there.

It was "Christmas in March" as the Seminary students delighted in receiving gift bags we gave them with an assortment of tooth brushes, toothpaste, rain ponchos, ball caps, snack food, hand lotion, clothes and even some percussion instruments.  One young teacher told us that she had prayed for new walking shoes for three years, we actually brought one pair and they fit her perfectly!

Our hearts were truly touched and changed forever to see with American eyes the stark contrast of such wealth in things spiritual against such lack in things material.  Certainly, the Burmese people in general, and these our dear and precious brothers and sisters in the Lord in particular, carry themselves with grace and dignity in the face of extremely difficult circumstances.

Our team invested into the church there; please help us with continued support for Myanmar:

The students and teachers desperately need support ($15 supports one student 1 month!)

Pastor Kap Suan Pau's vision is to purchase land for the Bible College and housing

The need there is great - too great for any one ministry to fully address - but working and giving together with the Lord's guidance and blessing, certainly we will see a great impact in Myanmar for Christ.

May the grace, peace and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ cover and keep you, and may we all live in the bond of unity as we each in our own way endeavor to serve Him and see His Kingdom come and the Name of Jesus be glorified even in the uttermost parts of the Earth!

Loving Him and you,
